The Ancient Order of Hibernians is America’s oldest Irish Catholic Fraternal Organization founded concurrently in the coal-mining region of Pennsylvania and New York City in May,1836. The Order can trace its roots back to a series of similar societies that existed in Ireland for more than 300 years. Today the AOH exists in America, Canada, Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland, however, while the organizations share a common thread, the American AOH is a separate and much larger organization.
Based on the Southern tip of Manhattan, Div 1 takes its name from Thomas MacRory Rogers. a native of Omagh, County Tyrone, in modern day occupied Ireland . He immigrated to the USA as a young man approx. 1912 and married Teresa MacGlade, a fellow immigrant and native of Dunganamohr, outside Dungannon, County Tyrone .

The AOH seeks to aid the newly arrived Irish both socially and economically. The AOH looks to foster and preserve Irish culture, art, dance, music and sports though fraternal and charitable activities.
We as a div look to pass down history and knowledge so that long existing ties to out Irish heritage are not lost.

This 90-minute tour through the off-limits areas of the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral. Learn about the important role it played in the Irish history of New York. We will tour the two walled cemeteries, the Church & the catacombs below it.
